Students attended Coventry University and had a lecture on what is forensic science and how it can support crime investigation. They then went through some basic crime scene information around potential scene security, exhibits and what could be recovered forensically from them and how they would be packaged. They then took their own fingerprints and looked at the markings on them. Then they had a guided tour of the bio chemistry Lab and the equipment there. Finally they spent time in a number of crime scene rooms and put into practice the knowledge of the lecture. They did photographs and sketches of the scenes, decided how they were entering the scene, what exhibits to recover, how to recover them and document and label them.
