How many hours per week?
Teaching contact time is 4 hours and 20 minutes per subject. Other workshops will be available throughout the year including over some holiday periods. Students are expected to spend a minimum 4 hours of independent study to complete assignments, homework, extra reading and independent research.
Entry Requirements
The Level Three Foundation Programme has a consistent set on entry requirements for each course. Students are required to have already achieved a of 4,4,3 at level 2 (GCSE or equivalent)

Why study this course?
The NCFE Level 2 Graphic Design course is an excellent way to improve your creative skills and thinking, something which all employers are looking for. You will learn to communicate your ideas and use visual methods to be persuasive.
What will I learn?
Throughout this qualification, you will gain valuable knowledge of:
• identify and experiment with graphic design components
• learn about graphic designers, their work and working in the industry
• work to graphic design briefs, refining and selecting ideas
• form a graphic design portfolio and explore creative direction.
What skills will I develop?
Throughout this qualification you will develop your analytical skills through analysis of a range of graphic design skills, processes, materials and techniques through the work of graphic design. You will also learn to develop digital and analogue design skills using software such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, Procreate as well as more traditional artistic media.
How will I be taught?
You will be taught using a combination of directed practical time and instruction as well taught theory. You will use Teams to create assignments online and tutorial videos will guide you through the skills you need. This method of delivery will also be reinforced with teacher support and guidance.
How will I be assessed?
This course is made up of 4 units and a practical exam. All work is teacher assessed and then assessed externally.
Where will this course take me?
This course is ideal for progression onto Creative Media, Art and Design as well as photography courses.
