King Edward VI College appoints new Vice Principal

In its 40th year as a Sixth Form provider King Edward VI College welcomes their new Vice Principal Tim Rogers to the team, as former Vice Principal Geoff Harris returns to a teaching career at the college and to a subject that he loves: Economics.

The new Vice Principal will be part of the Senior Management Team and will be responsible for the continuing improvement in student experience and outcomes and to ensure that the quality of teaching and learning is constructively challenged and supported.

Principal Dr Esther Maughan said “The College is excited to welcome Tim, a manager with experience of delivering high quality outcomes for students in the Sixth Form and FE College sectors. We are looking forward to working with him and will benefit from his fresh ideas, energy and enthusiasm and his knowledge of Best Practice. “

Born in Dorset and raised in Lincolnshire Tim started teaching in 1996 and has spent the last ten years working in London.

During his 18 years in education Tim has taught a vast range of subjects including Photography, Performing Arts and Media Studies and has gained most of his teaching and management experience in sixth form and further education colleges. His most notable professional achievement to date is being part of the management team at a Sixth Form College in South London when it improved from a grade 4 to a grade 2.

Tim said “I’m really pleased to be returning to the Midlands.  The college seems an incredibly friendly and supportive place and I am looking forward to meeting with all the staff and working together to ensure the college meets its strategic aims”

A lifelong Nottingham Forest fan, Tim enjoys supporting his team in his spare time and is also a lover of British Films. His dislikes include litter and graffiti – something that won’t be an issue at King Edward VI College.
