Vicki Ensor – Chair (Community Governor)

Vicki is an alumni of King Edward College (undisclosed number of years ago!). Midlands through and through, she went on to complete a degree in Applied Biology at Coventry University, a masters degree in Biomedical Science at University of Wolverhampton, and a PhD in Clinical Microbiology and Infection at University of Birmingham Medical School. Her career can be described in two halves; HCPC registrant in diagnostic clinical laboratory science and research, NHS leadership and innovation, progressing on to leadership positions in academia, most recently Director of Product in the Enterprise and Innovation function at Coventry University (back where she began!). Vicki currently leads a team whose function is to develop bespoke training solutions that enable business transformation and economic growth by providing current, emerging and future skills and knowledge for professional learners. As a senior leader, she represents Coventry University Group Leadership Team, specifically inputting into the education and enterprise and innovation strategies. She also sits on a number of other governance, strategy and academic committees within the University.

First in family to go to university, Vicki knows from experience that education is a strong driver of social mobility. She believes that everyone should have equal access to education (at all levels, if desired) and the opportunity to be the best they can be. By nurturing and coaching young people to have self-belief and confidence, to be inspired and have ambition, Vicki believes that young people can achieve great things and be happy, successful and productive members of society. To this point, her values and beliefs align well to KE6 mission, vision and values. As a volunteer, Vicki has worked at local schools to deliver reading support, CV and interviewing workshops. Her current role as Parent Governor on the KE6 Local Governing Board presents another opportunity for Vicki to input into the strategic direction of the Academy and ensure that every student is supported to be successful.

Vicki is really keen to represent the parent voice at LGB meetings, so please do get in touch: vicki.ensor@ke6n.ac.uk
