What is R2?
Route2 is a programme that provides students with the chance to re-launch their ambitions. It has been specifically designed to prepare students to study at a higher level the following year. This full-time programme offers a fresh start with highly effective and supportive teachers and dedicated Skills Coaches.
What does R2 involve?
Students enrolled onto Route2 can enhance their level two qualification portfolio in preparation for progressing to level 3 study. The programme consists of 4 subjects including a resit of Maths and/or English. Every student completed a Higher Project qualification which is aimed at improving academic study skills.

What are the R2 entry requirements?
Students are required to have already achieved a minimum of 1 GCSE at a grade 4 and 2 GCSE’s at a grade 3 or equivalent in their level 2 outcomes. Students are required to retake GCSE English and/or Maths as part of the Route2 programme if they have not yet achieved a grade 4.
