Principal
Lynsey Smith is the Principal here at King Edward VI Sixth Form College (KEGS) and has worked in education for 20 years. She began her career as a sports, fitness and health teacher before moving into wider leadership roles.
As a former KEGS student, she knows first-hand the power of a college community that believes in its young people. That experience continues to shape the way she leads today.
Dedicated to ensuring that every young person in our care thrives – academically, personally and socially – she works closely with students, staff, families and our wider community to build on our strengths and create the best possible environment for all.
Andrew
Deputy Principal
Andrew is the Deputy Principal at King Edward VI Sixth Form College and has worked in sixth form education for more than 22 years. He began his career as an A level and BTEC Physical Education teacher before moving into leadership roles across teaching, learning, careers and vocational education.
Andrew’s experience has shaped his belief that great education is about more than outcomes. It is about giving young people the confidence, skills and opportunities to succeed.
Passionate about improving life chances for young people, Andrew works closely with staff and students to strengthen teaching and learning across all BFMAT colleges. He is committed to creating an inclusive environment where students can thrive and where staff feel supported and inspired to continually develop their practice.

Assistant Principal (Learning)
I’ve worked at KE6 for over 10 years, primarily teaching English. In my role as College People Lead, I oversee CPD for staff, work on our leadership development programmes, and promote excellent teaching, learning and assessment. I also co-ordinate the Extended Project (EPQ) and Higher Project (HPQ) qualifications.
Maninder
Assistant Principal (Insights)
My role is curriculum focused, I lead on Level 3 courses across the college. I also oversee quality processes such as deep dives, subject reviews, and improvements that we aim to implement each year to support forward momentum towards our college-wide goals.
