F1 In Schools

F1 in schools is a national competition designed to develop leadership and teamwork skills. It uses the setting of Formula 1 racing  as a backdrop for this. Each team (usually 5 or 6 people) will be responsible for designing a model car (on CAD) which is then produced using a CNC machine. In addition to this the team is expected to devise a marketing strategy, work within a budget and attract sponsorship. Ultimately there is a ‘race day’ where up to 48 teams meet to compete.

This enrichment is perfect for students wanting to go into any areas of business, media, engineering or design. You do not need to be a fan of Formula 1 to take part. You just need commitment and the ability to work as part of a team.
