Karen Green – Joint Vice-Chair (Community Governor)

Karen has lived In Nuneaton for 23 years with her husband, and their three children all attended King Edward VI College.

Having spent 20 years in the private sector Karen joined King Edward College in 2007, initially working as an administrator before progressing to a Progress Coach then Progress Manager and Safeguarding Officer. Karen left King Edward College in August 2020 to train as a Social Worker, which was a decision driven by her experiences of working with young people in the college who were in need of support. Whilst working at King Edward College, Karen spent five years as a Staff Governor.

Karen gained a degree in Combined Social Sciences (Sociology) through the Open University in 2019 whilst working at the college, followed by a Post Graduate Diploma in Social Work through the Frontline Programme and Lancaster University in September 2021. She currently works as a Children and Families Social Worker in the West Midlands. Karen loves to spend time with friends and family outside of work.
