Ke6 Unity is the college’s Student Union, they help to create an inclusive and engaging student experience that represents all students and supports them in their education. To join KE6 Unity you must first complete the Aspiring Leaders course which runs from October – December. Upon completion of this course you would then be invited to join KE6 Unity in January. This role requires a lot of commitment and will be suited to students who see themselves in leadership roles or want to improve skills that would be used in a professional setting.
Student Voice
KE6 Unity represent and support students within the college by making sure that students’ have a voice in decisions that could affect their education, day to day college life and student experience. They make sure that Student Voice is communicated to staff and leadership teams within the college.
There are regular Student Assemblies which are an opportunity for Student Reps and KE6 Unity to meet to celebrate students’ achievements and gather wider college feedback. KE6 Unity have their own slot in the Student Assembly to use how they want to.
Meetings
KE6 Unity meet once every week, during lunchtime. This enables them to regularly feedback on what is happening in college and work on their own projects. The Principal is also involved in attending KE6 Unity meetings.
Events
Ke6 Unity are involved in supporting college events too and many members are also Student Reps and have taken on the extra responsibility of joining KE6 Unity. They create a welcoming environment for visitors and are there as a friendly face to support students at the start and throughout their college journey.
