King Edward VI College in Nuneaton has launched an App specifically for students who are interested in joining the college in September.
The app, named KEC, has been designed with potential students in mind and enables them to engage with current students and staff before they start.
Dave Butcher, Assistant Vice Principal said “The app will help prospective students get all the information they need and ask any specific questions they have in a more efficient and less formal way than the usual methods”
“We have student ambassadors on the app who are waiting to answer any questions and give advice about real college life, it’s a great chance for them to make friends before they start in September. We suspect it has already had an effect on applications as number are already well ahead of this time last year” he continued.
One of the student ambassadors Melanie Grove said “I think the KEC app is a brilliant way for potential students to interact with current students and be able to ask questions to someone more their own age. It can often be intimidating to ask questions to teachers so I think this is a solution so students feel more comfortable and at ease completing the transition from school to college”
Not only can students join the course groups they are interested in studying and get daily updates of what current students are doing; but there is also information about events and things to do and more importantly there are regular updates about their application and the process up to enrolment.
The app is available to download free on IOS, Android and Windows phone devices – simply search KEC in your App store.
