Making the Most of Our Open Events

Visiting a college open event is one of the best ways to explore your future options and get a real feel for student life at KE6. To help you get the most out of your visit, here are a few tips and things to look out for on the day:

1. Plan Ahead

Before you arrive, take a look at our Open Event Programme and campus map. Make a note of the departments, talks, and activities you’d like to visit so you can make the best use of your time.

Please note our creative arts campus (W Block) is open as follows:

Saturday 15th November: 9:30am – 12.30pm Access All Areas.
Wednesday 3rd December: CLOSED
Thursday 22nd January: 4:00pm – 6:00pm

There is limited car parking on site so please consider travelling by public transport or using a local car park Transport – King Edward VI College

2. Ask Questions

Our staff and current students are here to help. Ask about course content, entry requirements, enrichment opportunities, support services, and what life at college is really like. No question is too small, this is your chance to find out everything you need to know.

3. Explore Facilities

Take time to look around our classrooms, workshops, labs, and social spaces. Seeing where you could be studying helps you imagine yourself as part of the college community.

4. Talk to Support Teams

Visit the Student Lounge and Community hub to find out more about:

  • Specialist Support,
  • Bursary,
  • College Services,
  • Pastoral Support,
  • HE@KE6,
  • Route2,
  • Enrichment,
  • Sports Performance Academy,

At the student lounge, you’ll also be able to speak to a University, learn more about the EPQ and our Aspiration programme and meet our Careers teams, and find out about the help available to you, including travel advice, wellbeing support, and financial guidance.

5. Bring Family or Friends

It can be useful to bring someone along to help you take notes, ask questions, or offer a second opinion — plus, it’s always good to share the experience.

6. Follow Up

After the event, you will receive an email from us to give your feedback and be in with the chance of winning an Amazon Voucher, then take some time to reflect on what you’ve seen and heard. If you have any further questions, our admissions team will be happy to help admissions@ke6n.ac.uk
